ICONIC NEON PRESENT DAY

The second segment illustrates the colors and feel of Paschke's neon or electronica era common throughout much of the last 25 years of his career but particularly characteristic in the late 1970s and 1980s. Street freaks, burlesque woman and tattooed wrestlers gave way to haunting images of ghostlike faces obscured by neon colors rippling through the airwaves. The deep vibrant colors of the subjects glow as if turned "on," on canvases darker in both tone and message than was previously evident.
